1936 Omega Ref CK 987  AF Cal 33.3 Chronograph

Description:

An extremely rare and stunning Omega Ref CK 987 AF from 1936 in an oversized stainless steel case which is large for the period by appreciated by modern collectors. The watch is housing the infamous Cal 33.3 Chronograph movement. Unlike other chronographs from the period with a mono-pusher and the later chronographs with pushers at 2 and 4 o’clock position, this wristwatch has a pusher at 2 o’clock and the reset pusher integrated into the crown. The watch is accompanied by an extract from the archives confirming the watch to have rolled off the production line on the 5th of May, 1936 and was delivered to Italy. For its age the dial is immaculate, with a vertical brush finish and a mirrored pulsations graph around the minute track of the dial. Just like the outside, the inside of the watch is in fantastic condition, showcasing the gorgeous brass colored movement. For any discerning collector, this watch is a must have in any watch collection and most likely would never see a watch exactly the same.

Dial:

The dial is in a stunning silver color with printed Arabic 6 and 12 o’clock hour markers with the rest, raised copper plated hour markers. The watch has a tachymetre running around the outer circumference of the dial followed by a pulsations graph printed in red. There is a blue telemetre graph further inside the dial. All the hands were flame blued but over time the hands have turned to a much darker black/blue. There is a seconds sub dial at the 9 o’clock position and chronograph minute recording sub dial at the 3 o’clock position.
